Personal Belongings part 2 - Christmas in January

Yes the truck finally came
Yes better late then not at all
Yes it is like Christmas in January

Our Bikes
Now that we have our visa, we were able to buy a car, so bikes aren't as necessary (we were walking a lot), but they will be used!

The weather here has been a lot like fall. Winter has not arrived yet, still no snow and all only a handful of real cold days. Today was a great day for a bike ride, but
we didn't go riding.
To many things to unpack and put to good use!
We do have a great lake very close by, so if the weather holds ... there is always tomorrow.

Now this is love!
Coffee ** Twizzlers** Chocolate** Mints**Magazines . . .

Kitchen things!
Tip #1:
Great knifes are worth the investment. I got my set as a wedding gift, so they are getting pretty old. They may not look as good now, but they still sharpen and handle correct. I can tell you
I appreciate them more today
( A true case of u don't know what u have until they are gone ).
Measuring here is metric & spoons I hadn't found.
My good old cast iron pan . . .

Mixing in a few of my favorite things

Tip #2
Use towels, pillows and quilts to pack and then you will have some of your favorite things
I am grateful for some of my favorite things!!!
Tip #3
Keep a notebook of all the stuff you pack. Number each box or bin you pack and write everything in it on the box & in the notebook. Don't forget to take notebook with you. This made it so much easier for me to give instructions long distance. Although in my case, I didn't remember to do all the boxes nor all the things inside. So some things were a nice surprise i.e. my Willow Tree figures!

And now time for a cup of Starbucks coffee! We did go out to buy the coffee grinder.  Thank you to all my family who helped get some of our stuff to us.

And if winter does
even show up,
all good,
I got my cozy jacket and gear now!

A word about placement, I have tried to line everything up, but draft and preview are different!! Kinda frustrating! Not sure if or how to fix, but I will keep looking into it.

  1. Everything in South Africa is measured in grams. I went to allrecipes.com to get a conversion chart, it has been a lifesaver.
