Celebrate summer by being creative

On a warm Saturday in June 2017

Pebble art,
rock scriptures,
tic-tac-toe,
beach balls,
ice-breaker questions,
games, food, fellowship,
and the Word of God.

And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Colossians 3:17

... Might have gotten a bit carried away in the prep...

We all know we are made in the image of God.
The first thing we read about God is he created!
Therefore we all have some creative gene in us too!

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.Genesis 1:1
So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; Genesis 1:27

we had a great time getting creative... on the cheap!

Check back to see what we come up with this June!
2018
Just sayin'
Summer comes early here.
In Zagreb, this month of May brought increasingly hot days, lots of humidity with (almost) daily thundershowers and crazy lighting shows. As I write, it is late afternoon, 84F and I can hear the thunder in the distance.
(Just took in my laundry:)
Tonight the sun doesn't set until 20:35 and then it raises at 5:09 tomorrow. On average it is about 1/2 hour extra daylight and at least 10 degrees warmer than the Cape.

FYI: Over the course of May in Zagreb, from the start to the end of the month, the length of the day increases by 1 hour, 8 minutes, implying an average weekly increase of 15 minutes, 49 seconds. The shortest day, May 1, with 14 hours, 20 minutes of daylight and the longest day is May 31, with 15 hours, 27 minutes of daylight. The latest sunrise of the month in Zagreb is 5:43 AM on May 1 and the earliest sunrise is 34 minutes earlier at 5:10 AM on May 31. The earliest sunset is 8:03 PM on May 1 and the latest sunset is 34 minutes later at 8:37 PM on May 31. Unlike temperature, which typically varies significantly between night and day, dew point tends to change more slowly, so while the temperature may drop at night, a muggy day is typically followed by a muggy night. The chance that a given day will be muggy in Zagreb is essentially constant during May...the typical weather in Zagreb year-round, based on a statistical analysis... from weatherspark.com and timeanddate.com

“Why do you go away? So that you can come back.
So that you can see the place you came from
with new eyes and extra colors.
And the people there see you differently, too.” ― Pratchett

A.----------------------

Made our first visit back to America.
Leaving warm beautiful spring days in Zagreb ...
arriving in typical Nor'East spring weather,
overcast and cold, with remnants of a recent snow fall.

It is Mark Twain that is credited with the saying
"If you don't like the weather in New England now,
just wait a few minutes.”

A rare beautiful sunny day spent paddle boarding
and enjoying a picnic lunch with my siblings.

And Jesus said to them "Go into all the world and
preach the gospel the all creation". Mark 16:15

This being our first trip home in over 2 years,
we tried to fit in as much as we possible could.
I got to travel 5 days earlier and spent precious time with my family!!
Walked around my favorite areas, eating seafood, in Boston,
Hiked in the woods of New York (Wynantskill),
Had my toes in the warm sand and cold salt water on Cape (Centerville).
Plus
Tom preached in 3 churches and a conference seminar.
In between we managed to fit in a few family gatherings, including a wedding!  We enjoyed great food and fellowship with friends,
Ate in a quite a few of our favorite restaurants,
and early in the morning, I enjoyed ordering (and walking with)
a large cup of hot black coffee !

 B. & C. ---------------

 ...outreach, church, baptism, and fellowship...

People from Jerusalem and from all of Judea and all over the Jordan Valley went out to see and hear John. And when they confessed their sins, he baptized them in the Jordan River.
Matthew 3:5

Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you".
Acts 2:38

The last weekend in April, (and May 1st),
we had three special services with
Pastor Henk Brusse from The Netherlands.
A great turn out for all three services.
Along with preaching the good news of Christ,  Pastor Brusse gave words of encouragement, prayed for the sick, and even entertained us in song.
After Sunday nights service we held the a water baptism.
Baptizing 7 precious souls!
We ended the night, and ushered in May, with a pizza fellowship.

A is also for Adventure = an exciting or unexpected event or course of events.
Always an adventure living for Jesus...
Keep us in your prayers. God is doing great things. CC

From The Netherlands, aka - Holland, aka - Nizozemska;

Our first official fellowship impact team! May 2-8, 2015

A few arrived by plane, but most traveled by car, a 14 to 18 hour drive.
Most arriving Saturday, in time for the play "King Me".
By Sunday morning we had 29 people, ready to impact the local community with the gospel message of redemption!
Pastor Lanters and the team he brought, came prepared with
the drama production  "King Me".
Bringing everything they needed with them
and for the first time, reciting all their lines in English!
Plus we had special revival services with Pastor Houtman

And Jesus said to them,
“Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel
to the whole creation."
...And they went out and preached everywhere.
Mark 15: 16 & 20
From Jarun Lake
to Zagreb center
We brought music, drama and one on one evangelism into the streets.
God moved with souls added to His kingdom!

Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

1 John 4:9-10
This is how God showed his love for us:
God sent his only Son into the world so we might live through him. This is the kind of love we are talking about––not that we once upon a time loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to clear away our sins and the damage they've done to our relationship with God

What a privilege to be serving God and be a part of what he is doing around the world.

The word which came to Jeremiah
from the Lord, saying:
“Arise and go down to the potter's house,
and there I will cause you to hear My words.”
Jeremiah 18:1-2

And of course we made time to site-see and fellowship!
Medvedgrad fort

Mt Medvednica, Sljeme

Samobor castle, games and food!
(oh, yah, about the car not starting on the top of the Mt...
the guys pushed it up hill
to face it down the mountain {steep}
so Tom could pop the clutch.
It worked, Thanks guys:)

All too soon it was time for the team to packing up and heading back home.

To all back home and in fellowship churches around the world, we covet your prayers. Please keep contending for open doors and open hearts. For those here in Croatia, if you already attend a good Bible preaching church, please keep us in your prayers as we labor together to see Croatian's reached for Christ!
To you looking to know more about Jesus ...
come on down to the Potter's House!

Because truly Jesus is the answer!
