Our winter guest

Well Shealyn flew home last week- after 68 days - a long time to have a guest.  

Time to site-see, chill, be a blessing, shop, eat and sleep...

 Lots of time to make memories, to take photos 

 and between Shea, Tom and mine, there are 100's to pick from!

• Shealyn now knows the joy of sitting outside, even in winter, drinking kava/coffee and in Samobor eating kremšnita - a favorite

• Walking around Jurun lake, Bestovje village and the Stenjevec neighborhood

• Became a regular at riding buses and trams 

• Strolling and shopping in Zagreb centre, eating out of a paper bag.  

{The Croatian habit of sitting down and relaxing over kava (view post on coffee.), does not include food...when hungry, you go to a pekara (bakery) and buy a burek, salty pastry, or slice of pizza, which is then packed into a paper bag, hence you then walk around, eating out of said paper bag.}

• Tom taught her to play cribbage and she beat him more than once. I bought her knitting needles so we could 'learn to knit' together and although I started way before her, she finished her scarf weeks before me.

• Always a blessing to have in church and I enjoyed our muli-tasking outreaches!  { Also in Rijeka and Zwolle }

• She helped us move from the village house to the city flat.

(view moving on, Jan 2015 post) For her that meant going from having the whole second floor (4 rooms including a full-bath) to being in our only spear room and sharing all other space.

• Took site-seeing trips by car, hiked, biked and even experienced a very short ferry/raft ride across the Sava. 

• Plus she got a few more stamps in her passport: Our over night stay in Austria in December. In February she flew to Holland, stayed with Carly and then met up with us at Zwolle conference. 

We enjoyed having her and she enjoyed being here. 

Now a note to both family and friends,

 saving your pennies to visit

 ummmm 21 days is the maximum stay;)

 I can't wait for more of you to visit!
