Connors and Connors

Tom and Sandy made it to Croatia !

Connors Sr.
The Potter's House, Zagreb
Saturday outreach & fellowship
Around Zagreb and Samobor
Overnight in Rovinj
Touring the Pula Arena
Yep, its a miracle!

It was a fun, fast two weeks, in which we spent most of the time walking or driving around, showing off our corner of the world, talking or eating - sampling many pastries and fresh bread,  there is a bakery on most corners!  and oh yes, Sr. and Jr. had samoborske kremšnite- more than once!
One Saturday about 10 folks came up from the Rijeka church and after outreaching in Zagreb center we all headed back to the church for a BBQ.  One service, Tom testified with an interpreter - it was a blessing to have them in church!
We also managed to fit in an over night trip to Istria. (bc you can not come to Croatia and not put your feet in the Adriatic.) It was a little cool to swim, but  beautiful weather to explore Rovinj, Pula and the coastal road to Opartia. (And let us not forget rummie... no one came in last!)

 Married 54 years! 09.30.2015

~When you stop to think about it, a rare and precious event.~
Statistically* the odds against any marriage lasting are significant.
Besides the times we live in,  they had their own faults -
years of happiness & sadness, bliss & brokenness, adventures & accusations, laughter & anger -
And although those tales are theirs to tell, both would be the first to say it is by the grace of God they made it to 54 years!!!
Glad we could share in their special day.
Marriage is honorable - Hebrews 13

Statistically* We all know divorce is very high, but there are other factors just as alarming… In the past few decades, Americans have become a bit cynical when it comes to marriage; An Indiana University study suggests that as many as 23% of men and 19% of women have admitted to cheating on their spouses.(www.cheatsheets.com)    Pew research indicates that about one in five adults in the U.S. (25 years old or older), have never been married. Many never-married young adults are not “single.” According to Pew Research analysis March 2013, about 24% of never-married Americans ages 25 to 34 currently live with a partner. The most recent Census data indicate that when the current cohort of young people ages 25-34 reach their mid-40s and 50s, just 25% of them will be married. Clearly, marriage isn’t the institution it once was. (www.pewresearch.org )

Honor marriage, and guard the sacredness of sexual intimacy between wife and husband. God draws a firm line against casual and illicit sex. Don't be obsessed with getting more material things. Be relaxed with what you have. Since God assured us, "I'll never let you down, never walk off and leave you," we can boldly quote, God is there, ready to help; I'm fearless no matter what. Who or what can get to me. Hebrews 13:4-6
